As time goes the Indians get more rights and become a self-controlled people. Their reservations have owns rules and many have privileges special for Indian reservations. But it is still hard to live as an Indian in old tradition and it is poverty and alcohol abuse in many of the reservation

s. If you are an Indian you have in most occurrences two choices. Either you adapt to the modern society or you live as in the old tradition. In most cases the young Indians choose to live in the modern world. A new initiative is to give reservation right to have casinos, but this is very much discussed.
As I now have had about the history to the North-American Indians, and as an end I want to write a personal point of view. For me the Indians are a symbol for that the human civilization not has to be build up on material consumption, but instead build itself on spiritual, mentally, psychic and inner understanding. I would say that the Indian psychic, spiritually and mentally culture is better than the one we have to day. This is my ending statement about a great people that was almost lost in the greed to the Whiteman.
